Gorgeous Mama of two, Natalie founded Little Magpies shortly after having her first son. She has created a beautiful range of necklaces, bangles, teethers and more! Here is Natalie's story:
I’m Natalie, Mum of two boys Jesse aged three and Jonah who has just turned one. Before I had children I loved jewellery and accessories. So much so that I started a business selling handmade and vintage jewellery which was a hobby and a creative outlet for me. After I had my oldest son I quickly realised that babies and pretty jewellery are not compatible. My son broke a few of my necklaces so I stopped wearing them completely. Around that time my sister in law bought me a teething & nursing necklace from the US. I loved it and my son did too. However, it was a bit chunky for me and eventually I lost it. I tried to find something similar in the UK but there wasn’t much available at that time and what I found wasn’t really my style.
I decided to use my skills to create my own necklaces. I began making them for friends and gradually they became part of my jewellery business which was then based on Etsy. On New Years Eve 2014 I decided to open a separate Etsy shop for the teething jewellery and so Little Magpies began. The name came as an extension of my vintage business which was ‘White Magpie’ and as my baby literally was a little magpie for anything I wore it seemed fitting.
more and hopefully as the business grows this will be achievable. I’ve recently taken a career break from my day job as a social worker and I can’t wait to see where the business takes me over the next year.
It was at this retreat, we got to see firsthand the plants and herbs literally be turned into oils to be used for our treatments. To experience how the aromas from the oils made us feel during our massages and affect our wellbeing in a positive way was truly a life changing experience.
It was on this trip the idea came to us to start a range of natural products, infused with essential oils, with the focus on emotional wellbeing.
Upon coming back from India, we were surprised and delighted to discover we were expecting our first baby - a gift from India! Our idea was then somewhat delayed, but after giving birth in September 2015 to a very happy healthy baby boy, it was time to put our idea into action. After almost a year working on it, we proudly launched Made By Coopers Apothecary in July 2016. We believe what you put on the skin and what you breathe in, should be as important as what you put in your body, therefore every single ingredient in our products is natural and clean. Our candles are made from sustainably sourced soy wax, contain lead-free wicks and are fragranced with 100% essential oils. Our atmosphere mists and pillow mists are made with essential oils and organic ingredients. We have six candles and seven mists in our aromatherapy line, each with different benefits to suit every mood. Our products and candles are paraffin free, contain no chemical fillers, harsh preservatives, artificial colours or synthetic fragrances. To compliment our aromatherapy line, we have now launched a clean beauty line consisting of bath and spa products. We use mineral-rich salts, organic cold pressed oils, and fairtrade ingredients. All of our products are also vegan-friendly, plant based and contain only natural and organic ingredients. We are based in Surrey, UK and handcraft and our all of our products ourselves in small batches. We hope you enjoy our range of products as much as we do.

Eco warrior baby supplies gorgeous, eco friendly, organic baby products. Mama, Hope, tells us the story behind the brand:
I was inspired to create the brand after having my first child Ezra, the original 'eco warrior baby!' At a time when all eyes are on baby us mamas need to feel loved, supported and we hope our products make all our customers feel that way. Families are at the heart of everything we do!
We are passionate about creating stylish eco friendly, organic products whether they're a gift for yourself or for someone else.
What organic really means - In its simplest terms, organic cotton is cotton which is grown without the use of pesticides or fertilisers. Concern has grown over the years that residue from these chemicals may then be left on the cotton clothing we are swaddling out children in, especially as babies skin is much more porous than an adults. Organic means safer working environments for farmers and their families, reduction in risk to your baby through residual chemicals and less water contamination.

How to de-stress in under 10 minutes
November 16, 2016
Stress is extremely common. Most people experience stress at some point in their life. The stress response happens when we perceive there to be some kind of challenge or threat we have to face. The response prepares your body to do one of two things: confront the threat or run away from it. This is generally useful and improves our ability to perform in challenging situations, the problem comes when we face what we perceive as constant overwhelming threats or when we are not challenged at all.
In some cases, lack of stress can mean you are under-stimulated whereas if you are feeling stressed for long periods of time, it can begin to negatively affect your health ranging from headaches, stroke, depression, heart problems, skin problems, anxiety, stomach problems and others.
There are various different ways you can de-stress fast when you are on the go. Here are our favourites:

This month's May mamaME Box includes the gorgeous Rose & Shea Butter Salt & Sulphur scrub from The Salt Parlour.
Here The Salt Parlour discuss just what Sulphur actually is, and the benefits of using it to help you achieve beautiful skin:
IN A NUTSHELL...
Methyl Sulphonyl Methane is the full name to describe sulphur. Don't be put off by the name as it's also known as "The Beauty Mineral" (much better) for its ability to support collagen production, promote circulation and decrease inflammation.
WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?
The Beauty Mineral originates in the oceans where microscopic plankton release sulphur compounds into seawater. It then escapes into the atmosphere where it reacts with the ozone and ultraviolet sunlight to create MSM, where it then falls to the earth with the rain. It is then collected and concentrated in plants. Naturally derived during the earth's rain cycle, it's present in many natural unprocessed foods, but quickly lost during the cooking process.

We are thrilled to include the wonderful Positivitea in our May mamaME Box. That's the founder, Ellie Wharton, in the photo above sitting amongst some breathtaking tea plantations. By harnessing the healing power of herbs each tea within the Positivitea range has been specifically blended to help the smooth running of the organs associated with a particular chakra or counteract the ailments associated with its imbalance- chakras are the energy centres of the body. For thousand of years they have been used as spiritual guidelines for wellbeing and are said to be directly connected to the health of the physical body and mind. It is believed that when they are balanced you feel positive, healthy and happy. In the May mamaME Box you will find CONNECT Positivitea - Chamomile helps promote sleep and lavender is often recommended to treat anxiety. Honeybush is soothing and relaxing and has been found to counter headaches, irritability and tension. We think this is just perfect for busy, tired mamas and will help you to relax and get the most out of the sleep those babes allow!

Meet Siobhan, mama of one, and founder of One Mama One Shed a business creating truly unique, beautiful handcrafted pieces. We've loved working Siobhan and promoting her gorgeous business!
I'm just One Mama in One Shed, creating handcrafted pieces whilst the little one sleeps. Primarily I turn unloved vintage cutlery into pieces that can be treasured for years to come. I engrave each piece, letter by letter with messages, some cutesy, some funny, some plain rude, but all loveable.
I started out doing the stamping as more of a hobby but it's only recently, during maternity leave that I've started to see it as a business and really focus on it. I love creating and I love being a stay at home, working Mama to my babe. It's the best of both worlds. The little one and I go on regular vintage cutlery sourcing missions and post office runs during the day and then I tend to do my stamping, polishing and packaging at night when she's sleeping. As it's now supporting my family I have been able to focus on developing new ranges and I'm SO excited to release some soon. Eek!
Although running a small business is wonderful, being a one girl band can be very hard work. There is very little opportunity to 'switch off' because you do need to be available all the time. I'd love to say I switch my phone off at a set time each day but the reality is I need to be able to respond to my customers enquiries whatever time they come in. I want to please, so much so that I've been known to hand deliver OMOS packages on Christmas Day! A recent app discovery has meant that I can now forward plan some social media posts so setting some time aside for that, when feeding the little one to sleep, allows me to spend less time scrolling and procrastinating when I could be having family time.
The business might have been around for a couple of years now but I really do feel like it's only the beginning for One Mama One Shed. Watch this space!
